Nearly a decade after Dublin helped give rise to Tribe through Startup Scaleup, the ecosystem builder formalises its European presence
DUBLIN, IRELAND 28 APRIL 2026 [FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE]
IoT Tribe (Tribe), the global deep tech ecosystem builder accelerating the growth and adoption of disruptive technologies, today announces the formal opening of its operations in Europe, with Dublin, Ireland, as its first base. The launch, marked by its first in-country hire and strategic partnerships established from day one, represents a significant milestone in Tribe’s European expansion and the deepening of a decade-long relationship with the Irish ecosystem.
Before Tribe existed, there was Startup Scaleup – a European Commission-funded IoT accelerator operating across four European hubs, one of which was Dublin. That programme, which ran from 2015 to 2016 and supported over 130 startups from 47 countries, gave birth to what became IoT Tribe in 2017. The connection to Ireland’s ecosystem continued to grow from strength to strength. Formally opening a hub there in 2026 is the next logical step to increase impact.
Tribe brings to Ireland nearly a decade of experience delivering high-performance accelerator programmes, open innovation challenges and corporate venturing initiatives across energy, smart infrastructure, industrial tech and beyond. Having supported 500+ startups and scaleups from over 30 countries, engaged 150+ corporates and public agencies as partners and technology adopters, and built a global network of 200+ mentors and experts, Tribe combines deep technical expertise with a worldwide ecosystem to help partners rapidly validate concepts and scale commercially viable solutions.
“Europe's deep tech moment is here, and it will be won or lost on execution. Dublin is the natural launchpad for Tribe's European operations: a city we've worked with for ten years, home to world-class engineering talent and a corporate base serious about adopting frontier technology. From here, we'll scale the model that has already proven its value to corporate and government clients across Europe and beyond”
— Tanya Suarez, Founder and CEO, IoT Tribe
From day one, the new entity IoT Tribe Europe (Tribe Europe) will work with founders, corporates and public bodies across Ireland, running accelerator programmes, facilitating open innovation challenges and forging the kind of long-term ecosystem partnerships that turn emerging technologies into real-world impact. Ireland’s combination of world-class engineering talent, ambitious homegrown enterprises and a government committed to building a digital and innovation-led economy makes it one of Europe’s most compelling deep tech markets.
"Corporates across Europe are done debating whether to engage with deeptech. They want partners who can de-risk adoption at speed. That is the gap Tribe closes in Ireland, and across the continent."
— Marcus Roberts, Director of Operations, IoT Tribe
Tribe’s European operations are backed by its first Ireland-based hire: a Head of Incubation in Dublin, who will lead on-the-ground community building and programme delivery that have made Tribe’s model effective across its other markets.
To mark the formal launch of Tribe Europe, Tribe will host an inaugural event in Dublin on 27 May 2026, bringing together founders, corporate innovators, investors and public sector leaders.
Tribe’s expansion marks the opening of a new chapter for the organisation in Europe – one rooted in the belief that the best ecosystems are built slowly, carefully and with the right people in the room. As Tribe Europe establishes its presence on the ground, it looks forward to working alongside Ireland’s founders, institutions and innovators to shape what comes next.
